NM Santa Fe River Greenway 1

Tierra is working with Santa Fe County on a multiyear project to acquire the necessary property rights to complete the Santa Fe River Greenway project, an undertaking that will construct 8 miles of multi-use trails and help restore the Santa Fe River.

Tierra successfully negotiated the purchase of fee interests, open space and trail easements, as well as donations and land exchanges, and we are currently providing business and residential relocation services. Tierra staff performed all aspects of the acquisitions, including obtaining rights of entry; preparing deeds, easements, purchase agreements, and other documentation; conducting title research; obtaining releases of encumbrances and liens; resolving overlapping property boundaries; performing community outreach; and holding public meetings. Our team is also coordinating appraisal, environmental (Phase 1 and remediation), and surveying services. The project area crosses multijurisdictional boundaries, and Tierra has facilitated cooperation between public agencies and assisted with resolving challenging land use, permitting, and zoning issues. Tierra is also completing a Recreation and Public Purposes Act Application for the project through the Bureau of Land Management. This application requires a Biological Assessment and Environmental Assessment, which is currently being completed by Tierra’s Environmental Planning and Cultural Resources Division.
