Tierra was contracted by the Bureau of Reclamation to conduct numerous tasks associated with an archaeological site at Steamboat Rock State Park, in Grant County, Washington. Tasks include site condition assessment fieldwork, a site condition report, and a treatment plan for the site.

P7201083The purpose of the project is to help the BOR and other agencies address cultural resources tasks outlined in a Memorandum of Agreement between these agencies, the Yakama Nation, and the Confederated Colville Tribes (CCT), as well as to help the BOR fulfill their responsibilities under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. This is a highly sensitive project that involves human remains, multiple Tribes, and agencies, and it is in an area currently used by the public. The fieldwork plan and condition assessment report were accepted by the reviewing parties, and the treatment plan for the site is currently out for review.
