JMEC Operating and Vegetation Management Plan

NM Jemez

Tierra was contracted by the Jemez Mountains Electric Cooperative (JMEC) to assist with vegetation management planning and adaptive management required for the renewal of a special use permit for the continued operation of the Cooperative’s facilities in the Santa Fe National Forest.

The vegetation management plan created by Tierra focused on reducing the risk of fire hazards by maintaining clearances between facilities and vegetation located within and adjacent to JMEC’s right of way. Tierra’s adaptive management plan included seasonal and other restrictions for vegetation management designed to provide protection for more than 30 special status species that could be affected by JMEC's facilities.
