Upon completion of field surveys and documentation, Tierra developed and implemented a Sonoran Desert tortoise awareness and training program for the construction workers that built the Kingman Electric Power Generation Station. Tierra provided an on-site biological monitor for more than four months of the initial phases of construction. The biological monitor documented disturbances to potential jurisdictional washes to ensure compliance with disturbance thresholds. Tierra’s monitor also kept an eye out for Sonoran Desert tortoises during construction to make sure none were harmed.
