The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission aims to construct a new welcome center and renovate the entrance road system within Illahee State Park. The project involves State funding and is subject to compliance with the Governor’s Executive Order 21-02. Tierra conducted surface and subsurface field surveys for the project, excavating six shovel test probes to depths ranging from 65 to 80 cm below surface, and did not identify any archaeological materials. Tierra recommended that any ground-disturbing activity that may take place in the project area be conducted under an Inadvertent Discovery Plan, which was provided in the survey report.
