Santa Fe River Greenway Project

Tierra successfully negotiated the purchase of fee interests, open space and trail easements, and donations and land exchanges for the Santa Fe River Greenway Project. We also provided business and residential relocation services. Staff performed all aspects of the acquisitions, including obtaining rights of entry; preparing deeds, easements, purchase agreements, and other documentation; conducting title research; obtaining releases of encumbrances and liens; resolving overlapping property boundaries; performing community outreach; and holding public meetings. Our team also coordinated appraisal, environmental (Phase 1 and remediation), and surveying services. The project area crossed multijurisdictional boundaries, and Tierra facilitated cooperation between public agencies and assisted with resolving challenging land use, permitting, and zoning issues. Tierra assisted Santa Fe County with completing a Recreation and Public Purposes Act Application for the project through the Bureau of Land Management. This application required a Biological Assessment and Environmental Assessment, which were completed by Tierra’s Environmental Planning and Cultural Resources Division.
